    The Sunday night on 5th Jan was an amazing blend of complete fun, glam, and light. Many sparkling stars from the Hollywood industry were present in the Beverly Hilton Hotel to steal the show of the night. Golden Globe awards is the most awaited award function and this time it was hosted by Ricky Gervais and many nominees were there for the most wanted awards of the evening. So let’s have a look at who won what in the 2020 Golden Globe Awards!

    Best performance by an Actor/Actress in a TV series – Musical or Comedy:

    In this award, the nominees were, Michael Douglas for his famous TV series, “The kominsky Method”, Bill Hader for “Barry”, Ben Platt for “The Politician”, Paul Rudd for “Living with yourself”, and Ramy Youssef for “Ramy”. Fingers were crossed and many guesses were made. Finally, the best performance award went to Ramy Youssef for his TV series Ramy. This was the first award of the night and Ramy received the award and gave an amazing winning speech on the stage.

    Best screenplay –Motion Picture:

    This was another huge award category of the night. There were a total 5 nominees for this category. Finally the winner of the Best screenplay awards for Motion Pictures was ‘Quentin Tarantino’ for “Once upon a time… in Hollywood”. This film was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and was released in the box office on 15th of August, 2019. The lead castes in that picture were Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie.

    Best motion pictures animated:

    Now, it was the time for the best animated motion pictures awards. The result was very difficult to be predicted as all the nominees were amazing at a more or less same level. The list of the nominees included several leading animated pictures such as Frozen II, and “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”, etc. But, the award went to the “Missing Link”. It is an amazing motion picture written and directed by Chris Butler and hit the box office on 2019. This film was produced by Travis Knight and the movie followed a plot in which a Sasquatch travels all the way to the vast ranges of the Himalayas to meet his cousins, with the help of an English explorer.

    Best Director – Motion Picture

    This award was given to none other than Sam Mendes for his Amazing Motion picture, “1917”. As he received the award, he took the name of one of his fellow nominees, Martin Scorsese and said that he is in the shadow of him. Also, before leaving the stage he dedicated this award to his Grandfather. This was his second award in the golden globe and his third nominee which can be considered as a great achievement of one’s career.

    Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture

    On 5th Jan, Sunday night, Brad Pitt managed to nab the Globe award for his outstanding work in the movie –“Once upon a time in Hollywood”.  In that film, Pitt has played the role of ‘Cliff Booth’ and made the audience go wow with his marvellous acting skills. While receiving the award, Pitts had not forgotten to thank his fellow nominees for inspiring him for his work.

    The night was full of fun and entertainment and all the nominees for the various awards deserved to be in the list! Overall the blend of glitz, glamour, fashion and awards made up for one of the memorable nights for the celebs early in 2020.
