The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not going to be celebrating the annual holiday festivities and Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II and the entire royal family. Queen Elizabeth II is usually surrounded by the entire royal family members during the festival time but this year newest grandson baby Archie Harrison will not be there with the queen to celebrate Christmas.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be spending Christmas in the US with Doria Ragland, the mother of Meghan Markle. They will be spending Christmas in Los Angeles, Meghan’s hometown.
It was reported by the royal correspondent Omid Scobie that the Duke and Duchess are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with their extended family.He tweeted, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month. Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, [the couple] will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’s mother, Doria.”
He also added, “This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen”.
Also, Harry and Meghan are heading to America to celebrate Thanksgiving the next week. But now since they are celebrating Christmas in the US they might as well stay a little longer. Although their plan to stay a little longer in the US is not yet finalized. It is speculated that the couple will do a little tour of the United States. There is a possibility that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will travel to the US for a 6 week break along with Archie around Thanksgiving.
In 2016 Kate and William, had spent the holiday with Kate’s family near Kate’s childhood house in Bucklebury.
